Photography for mindfulness - It's an idea I've been musing over on the last few adventures. Having searched around a bit on Google it seems to be a rather common creative outlet in which to be truly present.
Photography requires a specific concentration on a) what is around you, b) how to capture the scene to the best of your ability, and c) editing the image to make it your own. The process from start to finish involves being fully in the moment. Being mindful.
The joy of exploring any location with your eyes wide open is almost unheard of in 2019 (for non photographers anyway). Curiosity is a wonderful thing. Even in areas you maybe walk through every day there's always something new to see.
Investing in a camera comes so very highly recommended. It gives you chance to put your phone away, eliminating those pesky distractions. This is when true photography for mindfulness comes into play.
As with all forms of creativity, the above is a direct path to a calming sense of fulfilment. Embrace your passion! Explore as much as possible, really paying attention to the world around you.
